Wisconsin State Legislature

The Wisconsin Legislature is a bicameral body composed of the Senate and the Assembly.  The Wisconsin Legislature is composed of 132 members representing an equal number of constituent districts.  The Legislature assembles at the state capitol in Madison.

The Wisconsin Senate consists of 33 members.  The Senators are elected for a term of four years.  The President of the Senate is selected by the Senators.

The Wisconsin Assembly consists of 99 members.  The members of the Assembly are elected for a term of two years.    The Speaker of the Assembly is selected by the members of the house.
