Montana State Legislature

The Montana State Legislature is a bicameral.  The upper house is called the Senate and the lower house is the House of Representatives.  The Montana State Legislature meets in Helena.

The upper house or the Senate consists of 50 members.  The tenure of Senators is four years.  Half of the Senators are elected every two years.  The Senate organizes rules for its chambers’ governance.

The lower house or the House of Representatives has 100 members.  The tenure of representatives is 2 years.
