The Utah Constitution was adopted by a Constitutional Convention on May 8, 1895. It was ratified by vote of the People on November 5, 1895. It became effective on January 4, 1896. The Constitution consists of a Preamble and 24 Articles.
According to Article XXII of Utah Constitution, it can be amended in two ways such as:
- the legislatively-referred constitutional amendment process, and
- a constitutional convention.
