The Mississippi constitution was adopted on November 1, 1890. It consists of a Preamble and 15 Articles. Each of the Articles is divided into continuously numbered sections ending at Section 285.
Two different methods of amending the Mississippi Constitution are:
- A legislatively-referred constitutional amendment under Section 273 of Article XV, and
- An initiated constitutional amendment.
