Office of the Vice President

The Office of the Vice President includes personnel who directly support or advise the Vice President of the United States.  The Chief of Staff to the Vice President of the United States currently heads the Office.  The current Chief of Staff to the Vice President is Ron Klain.  The Chief of Staff to the Vice President of the United States is part of the Executive Office of the President of the United States.  The Chief of Staff is responsible for overseeing the actions of the Vice President’s staff, managing the Vice President’s schedule, and deciding who is allowed to meet with the Vice President.  The Office of the Vice President also provides staffing and support to the Second Lady of the United States.

The office of the Vice-President has dual and distinct roles.  According to the U.S. Constitution, the Vice-President is first in the line of succession to the office of the President.  He is also the President of the Senate.
